Malaysian Style KUIH



chinese apam 'kuih'

mildly sweet and soft... love these with a cup of coffee..


char koi..

'a lil bit salty, love to eat this is sweet yellow lentil soup or bakuteh or even eat it like that with chillie sauce..'


cucur..
(creamy flour batter added with salt, spring onions, shrimp and anything u like, fried)

'superb with chillie sauce.. and oh yeah.. a cup of black coffee!! oooooOOOohh! SEDAP!'


Pulut lapis..

'mildly sweet and love to eat this by peeling one layer after the other.. made from glutinious rice flour added with wheat flour.. steam layer after layer.. :)'

I've had the apam and lapis kuih before- yum yum. I've never met a kuih I didn't like! But never had the cucur - looks delicious though.

I think the char koi is like a Chinese donut? I like to eat it with congee (rice porridge).

yes! hehe.. char koi is usually eaten with congee.. :) hehehe.. or yellow lentil bean porridge.. :) love all sorts of kuih.. yum! hehe.. wish u were here phyllis!
