How to make Crispy Popiah. :), D-I-Y

Crispy POPIAH!

All you need is;

For stuffing (fry in a pan first, almost half cook, not to cook so that it wont sog in the popiah later..)
1. carrot (cut long & thin)
2. 'Sengkuang' or aka chinese turnip (cut long & thin)
3. egg
4. big onion
5. red onion
6. a lil bit of oyster sauce


this is the stuffings! :) you can add chicken meat or anything else, i prefer vegetarian! :)

to wrap;
1. popiah skin ( u can get this at any supermarket, 50 pcs for rm3..)
and you need some starch to stick the ends together..

and you will need oil for frying or u can even use the oven to bake 'em.. :)

All wrapped, ready to fry or bake..! :)

hehe, ive never made it by hand before, but it is do-able. but i have to warn u its no easy work.. haha, its also known as spring roll wrappers, if u really cant find it, i found a site where they show how its made,

i heard u can make your own pasta rite (i havent tried that yet) i wonder if u can make it really2 thin, it might work u know. :)

this popiah can be steamed as well if u want it to have that soft texture, i like crispy ones better. :)

:) try looking for the spring roll skins in chinese stores? hehe.. if seriously u cant find them, then hmm.. u will rreaaallly need a thin paper-like dough.. hehehe..
