D-I-Y Squid Sambal
All you need is;
Main ingredient;
1. Squid or 'sotong plastik' or preserved squid (cubed)
For Sambal;
1. Red chillies (4 to 5)
2. Dry chillies (4 to 5)
3. Red onion (6)
4. Big onion (2)
5. Ginger (just a lil)
6. Garlic (5 to 6)
-all this blend till just slightly smooth, leave it a lil coarse so that u can taste the spices-
7. can use either tomatoes or tamarind paste
-Fry the blended ingredients till u get the slight aroma of all these spices, then add in the squid.. let it simmer for 10 minutes then add the tamarind paste (mix in half a cup of water), let simmer again and add water (2 to 3 bowls) and cook over slow fire till you get the gravy thick... tada! simple as 1, 2, 3!-

The squid, i use 3 for this .. enuff to feed a family of 6 or 10! haha!

Chopped, cubed i can say.. square em up..

See.. all the spices just get your favourite blender and blend them away!

Then you'll get this .. blended spices.. suitable for any sambal actually.. :)

Fry over slow fire.. till you get a slight aroma filling the air (or the house i may say so..)

Add in the squid.. and simmer, simmer... wait wait wait.. :)

Tada!! Sambal Squid!
~Enjoy!~
